Managed Premium ADSL

This service is provisioned using "rate adaptive" ADSL technology to provide a connection between the customer premise, and the nearest Clear Exchange Core Network Point of Presence. The service includes a Clear View provisioned ADSL modem, but does not include the single business line -- which is a required prerequisite for the service. The service is presented to the customer as Half-Duplex 10 Mbps Ethernet (10BaseT-HDX). Carrier WAN Access Ethernet - ADSL supports transparent bridging of protocols including DIX Ethernet II packets up to 1518 bytes in length and IEEE 802.3 packets up to 1514 bytes in length. Minimum line speed is unspecified. At the time of installation, the ADSL loop will be configured for an upstream rate of 32 Kb/s minimum and 640 kb/s maximum, and a downstream rate of 512 kb/s minimum and 5120 kb/s maximum. Actual operating characteristics may vary within this range.

The service is monitored 24x7x365 by the Clear View Global Network Operation Centers (GNOC). Our highly-trained network engineers employ a range of industry-leading tools to respond to, if not anticipate service-affecting events.

Managed Premium Ethernet

This service is provisioned as a 10 Mbps Ethernet connection between the Master Telephone Room nearest a specified customer premise and the nearest Clear Exchange Core Network POP. It is provisioned on Clear View supplied Fiber optics -- and includes a Clear View provisioned Cisco router. The service is presented to the customer as either a single Half-Duplex 10 Mbps Ethernet (10BaseT-HDX) port or a Full-Duplex 10 Mbps Ethernet (10BaseT-FDX) port on the Cisco router. The selection of HDX or FDX is made when the order is submitted and they are considered two distinct services with different prices.

The service is monitored 24x7x365 by the Clear View Global Network Operation Centers (GNOC). Our highly-trained network engineers employ a range of industry-leading tools to respond to, if not anticipate service-affecting events.

Clear View also offers an easy-to-use customer web portal through which customers can:

  • Measure service utilization
  • Monitor the Clear Exchange network performance
  • Confirm and measure against SLA metrics
  • View monthly invoices

Hosted Office

With Clear View’s Fully Managed Infrastructure services we offer a partial or complete end-to-end management of your mission-critical IT environment. Services such as providing Sun & Dell hardware; Microsoft Exchange & Collaboration, SIP trunking, Data back-up and recovery, Security, fully managed operating systems and integration, web and database applications as well as managed networks.

Fully Managed Infrastructure model is the next generation in managed hosting solutions. In the past, companies had little choice when designing their application infrastructures but to build out for the maximum anticipated usage. And in most cases the maximum usage level is seldom reached, leaving expensive resources underutilized and contributing to higher total costs of ownership with lower returns on investment.

Fully Managed Infrastructure solutions combine hosting network, computing and storage services to provide customers with application platforms that deliver better performance, higher availability. With the Virtual Office solution, Clear View customers have the ability to tap into the next generation of managed hosting services that deliver computing power and capacity at a low cost of ownership.

Managed Premium Internet

Today’s enterprise LANs are seamlessly extended to the Internet, providing the speed and bandwidth required to optimize network performance. Whether a small-to-medium sized business or a Fortune 500 company, business-critical applications such as on-demand CRM and ERP, VoIP, storage, back-up and recovery as well as accessing the world wide web require a fast, stable, reliable, high-performance solution. Clear View’s Managed Premium Internet service provides a highly-available, simple, cost-effective, fully-managed solution for high-speed Internet, which includes local access.

Clear View Managed Premium Internet provides access to the Internet at any speed from 1.0 Mbps to 1 Gbps, using Clear Exchange Gigabit Ethernet Network. Clear View has established peering and transit relationships with multiple Tier 1 ISPs and other leading national and regional backbone providers to ensure that Internet traffic always reaches its destination as efficiently and reliably as possible. Utilizing BGP4 routing technology, Clear View configures its equipment to ensure dynamic and optimized routing of traffic across those multi-homed Internet paths for delivery of business-critical applications. With a “no over-subscription” policy, Tier 1 transit connections to multiple providers, and intelligent routing, Clear View’s Managed Premium Internet is always available to support business-critical applications.

Clear View takes responsibility for all aspects of the network services. To begin, Clear View specifies, procures and provisions the equipment required to support the service. Via this customer premise equipment, Clear View Operations personnel gain complete visibility to the service during the service provisioning and testing phases.

With the Clear Exchange On-Demand bandwidth feature, network managers can immediately scale bandwidth up and down to support any number of events requiring additional bandwidth.

Managed Premium VPLS

Clear View makes deploying any-to-any multipoint Ethernet service as simple as running a local office LAN - whether it is across Canada, U.S.A or around the world. This capability is provided by the Clear exchange Managed WAN VPLS, a Layer 2 Ethernet connectivity service in a fully-meshed configuration across LANs in multiple cities at bandwidths ranging from 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps. Clear Views' network is an ideal platform for multimedia application convergence initiatives, such as a rollout of Voice-over-IP, videoconferencing and data applications over a single network.

Clear Exchange backbone network is based on Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS), an IETF standard that integrates Layer 2 information about network links into Layer 3 to simplify and improve IP packet exchange. Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) is an MPLS application that allows geographically dispersed sites to share an Ethernet broadcast domain. When VPLS is deployed over an MPLS platform, the result is a best-of-breed approach that provides the reliability, security and ease of use of Ethernet along with the scalability, multipoint-to-multipoint support, resiliency and QoS features of MPLS.

Clear View takes responsibility for all aspects of the network services. To begin, Clear View specifies, procures and provisions the equipment required to support the service. Clear View offers high-security by employing policy-based VLAN provisioning over dedicated ports. This ensures that an enterprise's proprietary data is never seen beyond the intended origination and destination points. And, given the inherent simplicity of Ethernet, Clear Exchange network services are instantly scalable from 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps in 1 Mbps increments. This allows customers to adapt dynamically to changing business needs and market conditions.
